10,000 Songs: Arkade Sets New Track Record!

When it comes to online music, one site is beating the competition hands down — Arkade.com is rocketing unsigned artists from around the world to new heights of success.

And the proof of its popularity? Well, the number of tracks available has just soared past the 10,000 mark and is growing fast.

Launched in May 2005, Arkade is the alternative to traditional record companies and distribution methods; an alternative which finally allows artists to ditch the middle men and be their own record label.

So it's no surprise that word is spreading fast...

Over 5,000 Artists Have Already Signed Up

More than 5,000 subscribers — unsigned groups and solo acts — are now selling and distributing their music at www.arkade.com. What's more, many of these artists are even garnering attention from major record labels, as well as licensing songs for TV and films:-

  • My Luminaries – signed to V2
  • Polly Scattergood - signed to Mute Records
  • Rebus – their track 'Work Song' featured in the recent Vodafone 3g ad
  • Carla Vallet - her song 'Streets of Tomorrow' is the theme for the Audi Q7 SUV ad
  • Transluzent – their track 'Blame' also featuring Carla Vallet was used in the title credits for the 'Stormbreaker' film

The reason for all this success? “The Arkade gives music makers all over the world a fair, immediate and unrestricted route to the global market,” says Chairman and founder Stephen Miller. “Subscribers set the price for their product and receive 100% of the price they set. They retain 100% of their rights and the Arkade is non-exclusive. Subscribers even get a free introductory pack! What's not to like?”

The Real Winners

And with streaming video and radio on the way the future looks even brighter. But things don't end there — multi-lingual and multi-currency versions of the site will soon be up and running so even more bands can get in on the action.

One thing's for sure; in the race to dominate the world of online music, Arkade subscribers are the real winners.
