Monday, July 24, 2006 Arkade at the Forefront of the Digital Music Revolution

As hero Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer) strives to derail the evil plan of Darrius Sayle (Mickey Rourke) in this summer's biggest action packed adventure STORMBREAKER, one of the secret gadgets that has been at the fingertips of the film makers has been independent music site Arkade.com (http://www.arkade.com/).

Launched in 2005, Arkade.com is a leading music site featuring original music from over 1,000 independent artists. It allows them to upload their music and make it available to the public for preview and purchase.

Associate Producer for the hit film, Jessica Parker, said, "We wanted to find a strong and original track to complement the theme of Stormbreaker. Arkade.com allowed us to experience cutting edge music across a broad range of genres. When we heard the Transluzent track featuring Carla Vallet, 'Blame', it blew us away."

Stormbreaker, released in UK cinemas on 21st July, follows in the path of two recent commercials that also sourced music from Arkade.com artists; the recent Vodafone 3G advertisement featuring the Berkshire band Rebus's track 'Work Song', and the Audi Q7 SUV ad that featured Carla Vallet's song 'Streets of Tomorrow'.

Kevin Harrington of Arkade.com, added, "When we launched the site last year we saw it primarily as a way for unsigned and independent artists to distribute music to the public at the costs they wanted and in a way where they got to keep 100% of the sale price. It is fantastic to see Arkade now evolving in this broader way to a wider audience."

Stormbreaker fans can download the track 'Blame' free of charge from Arkade.com
