Bluestones is a dynamic youth music initiative in Buchan and Banff/Buchan, Aberdeenshire, offering young people (14-25) who are passionate about music song-writing, performing and recording opportunities.

Bluestones offers training programmes in song-writing that focus on the writing and development of lyrics and the composition of music. Students are also taught stagecraft and individual and group performance skills.

During weekly workshops students learn from experts and a team of professionals who facilitate the creation of original music which is then performed locally and regionally. Student’s compositions are recorded to a professional standard and released on CD.

Technical skills in sound and stage management are also taught to students who want to expand their expertise in these areas.
