It was the most unquestionably eminent of all psychologists, Sigmund Freud, who coined the term SuperEgo. To him, this aspect of the personality governed many different features of the individual - most notably one's aspirations, desires and dreams; and is something that leads to an appreciation of the arts. Without a SuperEgo, therefore, one cannot fully realise what it is to feel.

This sentiment fully encapsulates the essence of the band. Bored and disillusioned by the insipid nightmare of music around them, SuperEgo have set out to recapture the original aim of songwriting - to make music that moves you to feel. As James Magee (keys and synth) put it, "We've got a message we want to get out there. We've got music that takes you on a journey." And after hearing their alternative indie rock, there's no turning back to the tiresome mediocrity of all the rest.
