Abraxas was born in 1998 trying to create new music. Initial members Mar, Roberto Herce, Toni, Manolo and Pepo started the job with a benefic concert at Villafranca de los Barros. That same year Roberto Villadangos entered the group, and they had their presentation at Bergidum Theatre of Ponferrada, in March of 1999. Some months later, Luisma got in the group replacing Roberto Herce. In 2000, they received the prize to the "Best song of the year" from the Spanish TVG. In 2001, they started the recording of their first work, "Ruina Montium", work that was finally released in 2005.
