The Origins of Sofa Rock stems back to late 99 at recording sessions for the band THYME.
Lewie Docksey, Joe Nicklin, Dave Shipley & Martyn Stretton formed the line up and started to work on an Mini EP called "Angerlistic pillow".
This EP was sold and sold well this prompted Lewie that a full album would work So he started to write the next album "The Day After The Day Before released on the Spectre label. This to sold well and Sofa began To play the music on the road.
2004 Saw Split Sofa team up with Mick Strode Who produced the album "the Sorcerers Lullaby" This album got airplay and more gigs soon followed.
Split Sofa Moved labels in January 2005 and in July the Follow on album "Draylon" appeared which also got airplay.
Since August 2005 Split Sofa have been working on a new album with new songwriter Martin Gilman. The album a more laid back Sofa will amaze some people out right with its mellowness.
