The recording of a demo at Rich Bitch Studios in Selly Oak enabled them to get a foot hold in the Birmingham music scene encouraging enough promoters to add them to their bill, stringing out 20 shows in just under four months! Venues included Bar Academy, The Medicine Bar, Actress and Bishop, Scruffy Murphy's, Waxy O'Connors, Eddies No.8 and The Attic in Leicester.

Fairview hit the studio again in January 2006, this time recording their debut e.p 'Lie awake as you sleep', with popular tracks 'Lost For Words' and 'Mistakes Make Regrets' making a return. They took up the services of legendary British Punk producer Iain Wetherell (Fastlane, Gravel Trap, Vanilla Pod and The Departure), who inspired the band to search for label interest. Song 'Lost For Words' has recently be played at some of Birminghams biggest rock clubs including Subculture(Carling Academy), Snobs and Subway City!
