AUSTIN (Feb. 28) - Drummer Buddy Miles, who played with Jimi Hendrix, has died. He was 60.

With a career spanning almost 50 years, Buddy Miles appears on more than 70 albums. Amongst his colaborators Buddy can include such music industry greats as Barry White, Muddy Waters, David Bowie, Santana, Stevie Wonder, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins.

Starting in his fathers band The Bebops, Buddy went on to play with The Delfonics, The Ink Spots and Wilson Pickett.

Miles, who was born in Omaha, Neb., was performing with his father's jazz-influenced combo by the age 11.

He co-founded the band Electric Flag in 1967. He also co-founded the Band of Gypsys with Hendrix and Billy Cox.

Miles was drummer on Hendrix's landmark "Electric Ladyland" album

"Sneak Attack" was made with The Buddy Miles Regiment in Los Angeles in 1980.
