NATASHA MIREN (pronounced muh-REN) was born in Switzerland to a Dutch father and Filipina mother on March 8, 1988. After falling in love with the movie scores of several films, Natasha decided she wanted to compose herself and did so using her piano and keyboard. Natasha also played guitar for a number of unproductive bands, experimenting with genres of music from metal to folk. In the meantime, she continued to work on her own instrumental compositions and branched into writing jazz and pop-rock songs, though not very well. It is this that she dedicates most of her free time to today but admits to being awful at writing song lyrics despite her interest in writing poetry. Recently she returned to the Philippines to record her solo piano EP Northern Lights.
Among her influences, Natasha lists Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Ravel, Saint-Saëns and Beethoven, while equally influenced by contemporary composers such as Philip Glass, Yann Tiersen and Michael Andrews.
