I grew up in Cayuga, Ontario – a Huck Finn kinda place. That’s where I learnt to play guitar, listening to 8-tracks and scratchy vinyl of everyone from Willie Nelson and Tom Cochrane to Emmylou Harris and Blue Rodeo; the Stones to John Prine, Guess Who to the Pogues.
However, as a songwriter, my abiding inspiration remains Kris Kristofferson. So, I would categorize my music as country-folk-rock.
Right now, I'm living in Northern Ireland where I've performed at the Lagan Island Arts Centre with the Broken Freedom Band and Highway56; I've also sung at Aunt Annie’s and the Errigle, Belfast (where, with my guitarist Ringo Dolenz, I opened for Mary Gauthier). I have also played live several times on BBC Radio, including as part of their 2004 Music Live festival.
My ambition is to record with and/or open up for Mr Kristofferson, without whom…
